Cryotherapy means exposure to very cold temperatures (often below -110 °C for a short time) in a specialised unit. Research shows it triggers your body’s circulation through a process called vasoconstriction, reduces the temperature of tissues, and may bring down markers of inflammation. In the moments after a cold treatment, your blood vessels expand, which can help oxygen-rich blood flow and support muscle recovery.
